Datura Flower | Poison Garden Original Block Print, Handmade Paper Edition 1/1
Datura's dramatic trumpet-shaped blossoms, sculptural seed pods, and distinctive foliage emerge from a richly textured sheet of handmade rose-petal paper in this original, hand-pulled botanical block print.
The image was printed individually in black ink from a hand-carved block. Bold carved lines capture the striking forms of Datura, a plant whose beauty conceals a long and complicated history. Known for its powerful toxicity, Datura has appeared in traditional medicine, folklore, and accounts of altered consciousness. Its associations with visions, danger, and the uncertain boundary between healing and poison make it a fitting subject for the Poison Garden series.
The paper was also formed by hand using reclaimed paper fibers and dried rose-petal inclusions. Its visible fibers, botanical fragments, subtle variations in thickness, and naturally irregular deckled edges give the piece the character of an aged botanical specimen or a page removed from an old herbal.
This listing is for the exact original print shown in the photographs. Only one impression of this design will be produced in this 9 × 5.5-inch handmade rose-petal paper edition, making it a unique 1/1 original. Additional impressions of the hand-carved design may be available separately on fine art paper.

The Poison Garden Collection
Part of Studio Henbane's Poison Garden series, exploring the botanical beauty, historical uses, and complex folklore of plants traditionally associated with witchcraft, healing, and poison. Each original block print is carved and printed by hand, preserving the individual marks and subtle imperfections of traditional relief printmaking.
Packaging & Shipping
The print will be wrapped in black tissue and tied with natural jute twine for a gift-ready presentation. It will be secured between sturdy protective backing boards and shipped flat to help prevent bending or damage in transit. A miniature hand-printed studio keepsake is included. Decorative botanical accents may vary.
Care
Keep the print dry and display it away from prolonged direct sunlight. Because handmade paper has an irregular shape, float mounting is an especially effective way to preserve and display its deckled edges.
Frame, mat, and display accessories are not included.
Please Note
Handmade paper is naturally more textured and flexible than commercially manufactured art paper. Variations in thickness, embedded petals, fibers, edges and ink coverage are intentional characteristics of each original print. Colors may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
Keep the print dry and display it behind glass or acrylic for long-term protection. A float mount is recommended if you would like to preserve the handmade deckled edges.
